Welcome to Play, Heal, Grow: Relationship Based Support for Calm and Cooperation

Child-Centered Play Therapy

Welcome to Play, Heal, Grow — a space rooted in relationship-based parenting and the belief that connection is the foundation for calm and cooperation. I am a mom, a nurse, and a therapist, but my greatest teachers have been my two neurodivergent children. They have been my deepest joy and, at times, my greatest challenge. They are the reason this space exists.

Through the years, I searched for ways to truly understand big emotions, resistance, and the daily struggles that can feel overwhelming for both children and the adults who love them. Inspired by child-centered play therapy principles, I’ve learned that calm grows from connection, cooperation grows from safety, and meaningful limits and choices can strengthen — not strain — relationships.

Play, Heal, Grow is where I share what I know now — what I once wished I had known — to support parents, foster parents, and educators walking alongside children ages 3–13. My hope is that you find encouragement, practical tools, and the steady reminder that relationship always comes first.

Rooted in connection, growing together.

We acknowledge that our therapy practice rests on the traditional territories of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe peoples. We recognize that this land has been a place of healing and care for thousands of years. As mental health practitioners, we honour the enduring relationship between Indigenous peoples and these lands, and we commit to practices that respect this legacy while working toward reconciliation and healing.
